Für mich ist recht klar: Das Samsung Galaxy J3 ist Premium für Preisbewusste und Einsteiger. Das macht sich an mehreren Faktoren bemerkbar: Als Materialien kommt teilweise Metall zum Einsatz, was in der Regel höherpreisigen Smartphones vorbehalten ist. Dazu kommt ein AMOLED Display, das durch seine hohe Klarheit und den satten Farben aus den vielen anderen Konkurrenten positiv hervorsticht.

There really isn't all that much about the handset to leave a lasting impression. Now that the J2 (2016) is officially out, this became even more apparent, as the two devices are identical hardware-wise and price-wise, only the J2 has the added novelty of Samsung's new Smart Glow notifications.

Of course, there's also the 3rd Gen Moto G to consider as well. This is just as fast as the J5 and has one of the best budget cameras we've ever seen. It also runs the latest version of Android 6.0, making it feel newer and more up to date than Samsung's J series, all of which only run Android 5.1.1. Samsung's notoriously bad at providing its cheaper handsets with free OTA updates for newer versions of Android, so those that want all the latest Android features such as Doze and Now on Tap should probably pick the Moto G instead. For me, the Moto G is still our favourite budget smartphone, but if you're not fussed about what version of Android you're running and value having a long battery life, then Samsung's Galaxy J5 is still the J series phone to buy.

The Samsung Galaxy J lineup cannot boast with the same premium looks of the Galaxy S or Galaxy A models, but compensates this with a price that’s easy on your budget. This is exactly the case with the Galaxy J3 (2016) which comes at a reasonable price and, at the same time, provides all necessary features for a mid-range smartphone. Such components are the 5″ Super AMOLED HD display with high contrast and detailed image. Also impressing is the battery which performed more than well in our tests, despite its not so great capacity.

It also boasts a rich 5-inch 720p AMOLED display and great battery life, making it a solid choice for AT&T customers shopping on a budget.

It’s reasonably well made and has a great screen that leaves me wondering why more manufacturers don’t specify AMOLED panels on their cheap handsets. The biggest problem the Galaxy J3 faces is the fact that its stablemate, the Galaxy J5, is better. That phone is not only faster, but also has a slightly better camera, a marginally bigger screen and better battery life than the J3. For a mere £10 extra, you can’t argue with the fact that it’s the better buy.

At a price tag of Rs. 8,990, the Galaxy J3 (2016) is just an average budget 4G smartphone from Samsung. It comes with a good Super AMOLED display for the price, has 4G support and has unique S bike mode along with NFC, but Samsung has missed out the ambient light sensor for auto brightness adjustment, yet again and the performance is also not the best. Even though these is an 8-megapixel camera, the quality could have been better and just 4GB of usable storage is definitely not enough.

Modell: Das Samsung Galaxy J3 ist ein preisgünstiges und zuverlässiges Smartphone mit einer soliden Spezifikation. Aufgrund des Button-Layouts, der abgerundeten Kanten und der bekannten Rückseite besteht kein Zweifel, dass es sich um ein Gerät von Samsung handelt. Man kann zwischen drei Farben wählen: weiß, schwarz und gold. Trotz des mit 138 g leichten Chassis, fühlt sich das Samsung Galaxy J3 in der Hand solide genug an. Das Android-5.1.1-Gerät verfügt über einen 5-Zoll großen Super-AMOLED-Bildschirm mit einer Pixeldichte von 294 PPI für guten Kontrast und Farbtiefe.

Das Samsung Galaxy J3 verfügt über einen Cortex-A7 Quad-Core-Prozessor mit 1,2 GHz, 1,5 GB RAM, eine Mali-400 GPU und entweder 8 oder 16 GB internen Speicher. An der Rückseite befindet sich eine 8 MP Kamera mit f/2.2 Blende und an der Vorderseite eine 2 MP Kamera. Weitere Features sind FM-Radio, A-GPS, microSD-Unterstützung bis zu 128 GB, Bluetooth 4.1 und microUSB 2.0. Die Audio-Qualität ist mit dem einzigen Lautsprecher an der Rückseite gut. Von diesem Gerät gibt es einige Varianten, die sich am offensichtlichsten durch Dual-SIM-Fähigkeit unterscheiden. Für Akkulaufzeit sorgt ein entfernbarer Lithium-Ionen-Akku mit einer Nennkapazität von 2600 mAh.

Serie: The Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 is a handset for those after a compact phone, one on an affordable contract, or a device that can be bought SIM-free. Most of Samsung’s phones of previous years were plastic, even the fairly expensive devices. The Samsung Galaxy A3 demonstrates just how far the company has moved on from that style. This device is composed of glass and metal, with barely any plastic on show at all. The front and back glass are big-brand Gorilla Glass 4, and the rear features curved edges for a softer feel. Beneath the screen is a reliable fingerprint scanner couched between the two soft keys, just as in Samsung’s larger phones. Also included is a headphone jack. In addition, the Galaxy A3 is water resistant. Its IP68 certification means that an accidental drop in water is unlikely to cause damage. As is the case with the majority of new handsets, the Samsung Galaxy A3 has a USB Type-C charging port rather than micro-USB. The phone has just 16 GB of storage, which is a little disappointing since the device offers only 9.8 GB of available internal memory and 481 MB of RAM without installing any apps. However, there is a slot for a single microSD card in the tray. The Samsung Galaxy A3 has an unusual speaker placement. Rather than sitting on the bottom of the device, it can be found on the side, above the power button. Speaker quality is fine, with enough volume to cut through some ambient noise.

For display, the Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 features a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED panel with punchy colors that can be calibrated to suit the user’s taste. For those who like a super-vivid look, it’s there. If a more relaxed colour is desired, it's possible to just switch to the "Basic" mode in Settings to achieve this. The Samsung Galaxy A3 has a 13 MP rear camera with a f/1.9 lens. However, the camera lacks optical image stabilization. Around the front sits an 8 MP selfie camera. It's capable of producing decent images in good light. The phone uses an Exynos 7870, a CPU with eight Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 1.6 GHz, and a Mali-T830 GPU. Samsung also includes masses of pre-installed apps, which aren't entirely welcome since the Samsung Galaxy A3’s storage is limited. There's the Microsoft Apps suite, including Word and OneNote. S Health is probably the most interesting of Samsung’s own apps. This is now a full fitness and 'wellness’ platform, allowing the user to simply track steps, but also log user’s food and GPS-track hikes, cycles and walks as well. There's only a small increase in battery capacity from 2,300 to 2,350 mAh. The 2,350 mAh battery is well suited to the Samsung Galaxy A3’s small screen, and when used in a way that exploits this, the Galaxy A3 lasts for some time. The 2017 Galaxy A3 is a low-end smartphone with all the necessary features of a high-end device. Hence, the slightly higher price tag is justified.
