Holy wow!

The first Legacy game was fun and had good puzzles, but the implementation was, to be polite, a bit wonky- still, a good first effort and certainly worth playing.
This second installment, however, is nothing short of an exponential leap forward in every respect. I’ve never seen such an extraordinary learning curve as this from one game to the next from any other dev. As a personal note, David, you are to be congratulated for “upping your game” to such a high level so quickly. A few of the mechanics (such as the camera swooshing sound😁) are obviously influenced by the Room series, but this game stands entirely on its own as a benchmark adventure to which other puzzlers should try to measure up. The three-dimensionality was immersive; the panning was smooth; navigation felt real; puzzles were interestingly fun, challenging, and diverse; objects were cleverly used; and the story/atmosphere was engaging. The only things I would have changed would have been, perhaps, different music and the ability to zoom back out of an area, but that’s really just kinda nitpicking. As far as I’m concerned, this is absolutely one of the best games of its kind that I’ve played (and I’ve played quite a few). I am truly looking forward to the third one... heck, I might even buy it now😄. Please keep making more great games, David.

Thank God for the map

Overall I enjoyed the game and puzzles within. It got exponentially easier to navigate once I figured out there was a map and each room labeled. I definitely needed the camera in game because it marked the room number on it. Unfortunately though it only stored 20 pictures before I got an error. If it was unlimited I think this would be better. There is just not much chance at remembering where each room is on your own. A few rooms were also labeled one number but had multiple subrooms and that was a bit tricky figuring out. I also wish the map and fast travel option within it would have been introduced in the tutorial. In fact, I wish the tutorial would have had an concrete ending. It just sorta stopped after the first door (I think). A few more pieces of guidance in game mechanics and I would have been totally happy.

Oh and the only other odd thing was that with the new artifact for walking on ceilings seems to not totally work. Meaning once I was up there I actually couldn't get back down. I had to fast travel to another room to get back on the floor. There wasn't any intro to the artifact powers so I was blindly clicking everywhere I could find, but no purple area showed up that allowed me to go back down. That should definitely be remedied if possible.

Absorbing

This game just keeps on giving. I play a little bit every night before bed and it has lasted a month at least. Interesting and challenging to just the right degree. Some puzzles are similar to each other, but fun to play (he does great stuff with light beams) but most are so different from each other that every room has lots of novel challenges. Extremely creative, especially enjoy that one function that eventually appears as an icon in the lower right hand corner with the arrow (hey I’m not putting any spoilers in here). That one i have used several times just for fun! Have already bought 3 in advance that I won’t miss a day. Don’t want it to end! Might be interesting if you had the option to turn off the hints, for that extra level of “now what?” That makes such games so intriguing. I love that this game has no time-pressure challenges…. Zero puzzles where you have to do something within a a certain amount of time or restart (or even worse, die or sustain injuries, which even in a video game is insanely stressful). I like the music a lot too…..mysterious but not creepy, and not too repetitive. Kudos on all aspects. Thank you for this wonderful game. More please.
